Do they give out any Grammy award for wierdest album cover. If so, MGMT could probably take that category. I have no idea what this cover is supposed to be a picture of. I am going to guess it is what you’d wear to if you were going to a rave at a beach. [...]

music: The Killers – Day and Age
January 16th, 2009 · No Comments
Do lame lyrics spoil an entire album? Good question.
Take for example, The Killers‘ new album Day & Age, in my opinion this album contains some of the goofiest lyrics that I have heard in a long while. The album contains the song Human, which contains the lyric: “Are we human, or are we dancer?”. Apparently, [...]

music: Girl Talk – Feed the Animals
December 4th, 2008 · No Comments
If you haven’t heard of Girl Talk until now… then you’re welcome. This is one of the best musical acts to come out of Pittsburgh in a long time. Girl Talk is a essentially one guy (Gregg Gillis) and his laptop, that mix hip-hop, eighties classics, grunge hits, and pop songs into something entirely new. I don’t [...]

Radiohead plays with lasers
July 25th, 2008 · No Comments
Radiohead released a new music video, it has been posted on youtube. The song, House of Cards, is great and the video is a pretty amazing. The innovation here is that the video was making by real time 3D laser scanning instead of using a camera.

Here’s an album from 2007 that I was hoping would be better than I think it ended up. Bright Eyes’ album Cassadaga, is the follow-up to I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. Overall, I think that I like Conor Oberst- although sometimes his lyrics sound like he’s trying too [...]

music: Radiohead – In Rainbows
June 12th, 2008 · No Comments
Here’s a musical review without no value add: Radiohead’s In Rainbows album is totally great. Of course, if you are any sort of fan of Radiohead, then this is a completely obvious statement.
I put this album in the same strata as Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, which means if this album were made by any [...]

music: The National – Alligator
May 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of the band The National, especially their album Alligator, thanks to my friend DiGi for pointing me in their direction. I’m not a professional music critic by any means, and since this album from 2005, I’m a couple years behind the times.
Anyway, I’d definitely recommend taking a listen [...]
